Case study 03 • Instrumentation & structural monitoring
Connected Pipeline Sensing
Designed, built, calibrated, installed, and commissioned custom sensing systems for buried pipelines and harsh industrial environments.

Challenge
The system problem
Capture strain, vibration, soil movement, and dynamic pressure effects reliably on operating assets in remote and corrosive environments where laboratory assumptions break down quickly.
Approach
Integration work
- Integrated fibre-optic and conventional sensors from prototype through field deployment.
- Owned calibration, installation planning, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and acceptance.
- Instrumented systems for pipelines, sulfur-loading equipment, earthquake response, railway rockfall monitoring, and ferry vessels.
- Used fibre-optic measurements to identify pump-pressure surges moving through pipe sections.
Outcome
What changed
Delivered field-ready monitoring systems with traceable sensor behaviour and usable operational data, often independently or in two-person teams.
